ICO Launch Consultation into Subject Access Request Guidance

The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) has launched a consultation to invite views from the public on its new guidance for subject access requests. More information on this and links to the guidance and consultation survey can be found here.

The guidance aims to provide more detailed information on the right of access and how data controllers are expected to comply with this.  The ICO says the consultation will help it to understand where further clarity may be needed.

This is such an important right but there remain a lot of question marks over controllers’ obligations in this regard.  As such, Clarkslegal LLP will be responding to the ICO’s consultation in the hope that more detailed guidance can be provided.

The consultation closes on 5pm Wednesday 12th February 2020.
