You may be eligible for a spouse or partner visa if you are in a genuine, long-term relationship with one of the following:

  • A British citizen
  • A person settled in the UK (e.g. holding Indefinite Leave to Remain)
  • A person with refugee status or humanitarian protection
  • A person from the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein and have pre-settled status – provided they started living in the UK before 1 January 2021
  • A person holding a Turkish Businessperson visa or Turkish Worker visa
  • Have got permission to stay as a stateless person before you became their partner

Depending on your circumstances, you can apply as a fiancé(e), spouse, civil partner, or unmarried partner.
