Clarkslegal Partners with Albion Legal to Offer Comprehensive Employment Law Protection Scheme

Employment law is becoming increasingly complex for UK employers. Legislative change, evolving case law and an expanding scope of employee rights mean that the risk of employment disputes and the cost of defending them has never been higher.

Many businesses only begin to consider their exposure when faced with a tribunal claim. By that stage, legal fees, management time, reputational risk and potential awards can escalate quickly.

Employers are often left asking key questions too late:

Are our policies compliant? Who supports us through a dispute? How do we manage the financial risk?

With the number of employment tribunal claims forecast to rise further, particularly following recent and upcoming reforms, taking a proactive approach to employment law risk is now essential. Access to early legal advice, alongside financial protection against disputes, can make a critical difference to how organisations respond and recover.

Clarkslegal introduces Employment Law Protection Insurance in partnership with Albion Legal

As part of Clarkslegal’s ongoing commitment to supporting clients with their employment law and compliance needs, we are pleased to offer a market-leading Employment Law Protection Insurance Scheme, arranged by Albion Legal.

This scheme is designed to provide businesses with certainty and stability when facing employment disputes, enabling them to focus on running and growing their organisations with confidence.

Employment disputes can be costly and time-consuming, and many insurance products on the market restrict solicitor choice or limit cover when it is most needed. In contrast, this scheme has been developed to work seamlessly alongside Clarkslegal’s employment law services.

How the scheme works

The Employment Law Protection Insurance Scheme provides cover for the financial risks associated with employment disputes, including:

  • Legal fees incurred in defending tribunal claims
  • Tribunal awards and settlements
  • Early protection triggered from the ACAS Early Conciliation stage

Crucially, clients continue to receive direct, responsive support from the Clarkslegal employment law team, rather than being referred to panel solicitors. This ensures continuity, commercial understanding and advice from lawyers who already know the business.

The scheme supports early intervention, compliance and risk reduction, helping to minimise the likelihood of disputes arising in the first place.

Tailored, flexible and transparent

In partnership with Albion Legal, the scheme offers:

  • Bespoke policy options, allowing organisations to tailor cover to their specific needs
  • Optional additional protections, including health and safety, data protection and pursuit of restrictive covenant breaches
  • The option to pay premiums in instalments, supporting cash flow
  • A fixed excess, providing certainty and avoiding unexpected costs

Clarkslegal receives no commission from this scheme, helping to ensure that premiums remain competitive and transparent for clients.

Supporting better decision-making

Having insurance in place allows businesses to make the right decision when faced with a claim, whether that is defending proceedings to a final hearing where the merits are strong, or resolving matters commercially at an early stage, without being driven solely by concern over legal costs.

When combined with Clarkslegal’s employment law advice and helpline services, the scheme also supports early intervention, compliance and risk reduction, helping to minimise the likelihood of disputes arising in the first place.
