Why You might need an Employee Solicitor

Sometimes things go wrong at work, and you need help to understand whether or not your employer is treating you properly.  You may have a grievance or claim for discrimination or harassment, or you want to whistle blow but are afraid of retaliation?  Or perhaps you are being taken through a disciplinary, performance or redundancy process and have been offered a settlement agreement?   If you have a disability, you may want help getting your employer to understand your needs. In any of these scenarios an employment lawyer can provide you with some practical advice on what to do and how best to protect your position.

However, not all employment issues are negative.  You might want help negotiating a new contract, service agreement or bonus terms with your employer.  We can help you with this too.

Ultimately you might need advice and guidance on the merits of any potential claim and representation in an employment tribunal.

What are the common employment issues and how can we help?

Your relationship with your employer will be one of the most significant you have and if it goes wrong, it can be highly stressful.  Our expert lawyers for employee are there to look after you and to take the stress away as much as possible.

They can provide you with both practical and strategic advice when workplace disputes arise, whether it be complaints about discrimination or harassment, about wages or working arrangements, or that you have been unfairly dismissed.  They can make sure that you understand your legal position, what steps to take to best protect yourself, what claims you might have and when to bring them.  They can prepare your claim and represent you in tribunal or negotiate a good financial settlement.

Contract disputes are not uncommon and so getting us to review your contract or help negotiate complex service agreements and LTIPS is a wise move.  Our team has the expertise to support you in this process.

FAQs about Employment Law for Employees

There are strict time limits for bringing an unfair dismissal claim in the employment tribunal, so the first thing to do is get advice on the deadline by which you have to lodge your claim.  Once you know this you can get advice on the merits of any claim and take steps to protect your position.

This very much depends on the type of claim, so as soon as you think you might have a claim, because for example, you have been terminated from your job, or an act of discrimination or harassment has occurred, we recommend you take advice so that you can protect your position.
