Putting the Heart Back into the High Street with New Reading Cinema

With the help of Clarkslegal, a new independent cinema is coming to Broad Street Mall in Reading this summer, in a deal between developer Really Local Group, and Moorgarth, the owners of Broad Street Mall.

Really Local Group will transform the ground and first-floor unit of the former Argos store to provide a four-screen cinema. It will include food kiosks, outdoor terrace seating area and café bar by London based Compound Coffee.

The project was led on the Clarkslegal side by real estate partner Simon Ralphs with key support from the corporate/commercial and the construction teams.

“We are very excited about coming to Reading to enhance the cultural infrastructure offer in a town with an established creative community.”

Simon Ralphs commented: “We are very proud to help Really Local Group with this fantastic scheme. With the current state of the retail market in the UK it is great to work on something that is looking to regenerate the high street and also add to the cultural fabric of Reading.”

Preston Benson, founder of Really Local Group, said: “We are very excited about coming to Reading to enhance the cultural infrastructure offer in a town with an established creative community.”
