The Commercial Real Estate team at Clarkslegal has advised on the purchase and redevelopment of a site in Peterborough for Crown Packaging.
Crown Packaging is part of Crown Holdings, a leading global supplier of rigid packaging products. The development in Peterborough will house a 625,000 square feet state-of-the-art beverage can plant making facility and will employ 280 people.
The team at Clarkslegal was led by Commercial Real Estate Partner Simon Ralphs who commented: “I’m delighted to work with Crown Packaging on this deal bringing to the UK their largest purpose built can making facility in Europe. Clarkslegal have been working for Crown for almost 30 years and we look forward to helping on more future projects.”
The company commented: “Beverage cans are the world’s most sustainable and recycled beverage packaging option and are increasingly preferred by customers and consumers alike. A growing proportion of new beverages in the U.K. is being introduced in cans, and this new facility demonstrates Crown’s commitment to meeting expanding customer requirements.”
The project is set to complete in 2023.
